Tofu Cat Litter FAQ

1. What is tofu cat litter made of?

Our tofu cat litter is made from natural, biodegradable ingredients like soybean fiber, corn starch, and pea residue. It’s safe for cats, low in dust, and eco-friendly.

2. Is tofu litter safe for kittens?

Yes. Tofu litter is non-toxic and free from harsh chemicals, making it safe for both kittens and adult cats. However, always monitor young kittens to ensure they are not ingesting any litter.

3. Can I flush tofu litter down the toilet?

Yes, small amounts of used tofu litter can be flushed in most plumbing systems. It breaks down quickly in water. That said, please check your local plumbing guidelines first, especially if you have a septic system.

4. How well does tofu litter control odor?

Tofu litter naturally absorbs moisture and odors. When scooped daily, it provides excellent odor control, often better than clay-based litters.

5. How often should I change the litter completely?

Scoop clumps daily and top off as needed. A full litter box refresh is usually recommended every 2–3 weeks, depending on use and the number of cats.

6. Does it clump like regular litter?

Yes. Tofu litter forms soft, scoopable clumps when wet. It’s easy to remove and leaves the rest of the box clean and dry.

7. How much litter should I use in the box?

We recommend filling your litter box with 2 to 3 inches of tofu litter for best performance and clumping.

8. Does tofu litter track outside the box?

While no litter is 100% track-proof, our tofu litter is low tracking compared to clay or crystal litter. Using a litter mat can help minimize any mess.

9. Is tofu litter biodegradable or compostable?

Yes. Tofu litter is 100% biodegradable. You can compost the used litter (excluding solid waste) or dispose of it as organic waste where local laws allow.

10. How does tofu litter compare to traditional clay litter?

Tofu litter is:

  • Lighter and easier to carry

  • Flushable (in small amounts)

  • Less dusty

  • More environmentally friendly

  • Safer if ingested in small amounts
